Siva Gange hill- Near Dobbspet

A hill temple near Dobbspet, 20 km from Tumkur.
Dobbspet can be reached by train also.

After a small climb of around 150 or so steps, we can reach these large and natural cave temples dedicated to Sri Gangadhareswara Swamy and Sri Honnammadevi.
One can also visit the Pataala Gange pond near these temples.

These temples and the surrounding area was developed by the 12th century Hoyasala King Vishnuvardhana.

There is a trail for trekking further up to the top of the hill.
Trek level - Moderate difficulty.
There are a lot of monkeys on the way to the top and its advisable not to carry bags, water bottles etc,.

Olakal teertha  is a notable point on the way to the bull statue peak.
The small plateau at the top hosts a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
